Southbound – a five-piece electric/acoustic combo hailing from Derby, UK, are one of the Midlands’ favourite Country Rock and Americana bands. Each band member is a talented multi-instrumentalist and performer in their own right, with decades of experience in all styles of American roots music. Previously voted Mick Moonshine’s band of the year.

Inspired by all the great American Roots Music of last 75+ years, we cover and reinterpret material from an eclectic range of luminary artists ranging from Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Elvis, and the Everly Brothers, to Flatt and Scruggs, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Grateful Dead, Old Crow Medicine Show, Eilen Jewell, Lucinda Williams, BR549, Wayne Hancock and beyond….

Well-versed in traditional mountain music featuring Double bass, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, and soaring three-part harmonies, we add twangy electric guitars and drums into the mix to bring you a wide range of rockin’ material, from traditional ’40s Bluegrass to ’70s Country Rock to contemporary Americana. 

Think down-home Appalachia, Memphis, ’50s Rockabilly and Sweet Home Alabama, rather than modern Nashville pop. Our aim is to get you up dancing with a totally rocking set – Bring your dancing shoes!
