The Wigornia String Quartet comprises leading freelance musicians from around the Midlands, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Shropshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and Herefordshire. One of its many assets is the musical breadth and diversity of its players, all of whom perform regularly with other ensembles and in other settings across the UK.
This often takes the form of performances with chamber or opera orchestras, recitals with small ensembles, playing for musicals and shows, touring with international pop artists, recording sessions for TV or playing improvised jazz on electric instruments.
Their musical skill and wealth of experience have seen the Wigornia String Quartet play for many wedding ceremonies, civil partnerships, corporate functions and private parties to great acclaim.
Engagements have included playing for the Duchess of Gloucester, Channel 4's 'Come Dine With Me' Royal Wedding Special, corporate functions including for the Graeme Hick 100 Club at Worcester Cricket Club as well as recitals for the Three Choirs Festival, Off The Tracks Festival at Castle Donington, Harvington Hall in Worcestershire as well as collaborations with i-Sing Choirs.
The quartet are Jason Glover on viola, Sean K Gilde on cello, Helen Griffiths on violin and Jo Chambers on violin.
